Digital Edge has purchased a Heidelberg CD 102 6 Colour Press, as we are quickly filling up our space we have added another 6,000 square feet to put the new press in. With the purchase of this new press Digital Edge will truly be a one stop shop for Print & Mail
12.14.11 | First Canadian install of FUJIFILM's J Press 720 (21 x 29 sheet) (Scheduled for Install March 6)
Looks like we can now safely say that we will be the first install of Fuji's amazing J Press 720 in Canada. This machine is bleeding edge technology that will allow us to produce short run and variable print jobs directly using inkjet technology. There is too much to say here, and the technology itself is constantly getting better, I will be starting a blog as the install process happens and will post a specs page on our site for those interested. Just to help you realize how amazing this is though the J Press 720 requires no plates, wash up and 1/100th of the make ready time and expense we can go from imposition to printing in as little as 2 minutes. If your company is trying to stay green then this is your answer without wasted plates, ink or paper we can offer you better than press quality while being environmentally responsible.
10.11.11 | Digital Edge Open House
Our open house was a great success, with approximately 150+ guests we partied till the wee hours. Our guests got treated to a suprise visit from some of Hockey's greatest players including Johnny Bower, Paul Coffey, Wendle Clark and Gary Leeman. The Hockey Hall of Fame also brought over several trophies for our customers to have their photos taken with. The band kept most entertained while many peopled played the casino games to win some fabulous prizes. I am already looking forward to next year.

10.10.11 | Complete Kirk Rudy Line
Installation is almost complete, the new line is completely modular and the folding, inkjetting and tipping can be moved anywhere in the process. A complete camera system allows us to track and record the entire process along the way.
With this system we can tip on everything from credit cards to post-it notes, even items as large as 8.5" wide. With 2 inkjet heads and a full dryer to ensure clean crisp print. 3 inline plough folds allow us to create many folds inline and glue the pieces closed or clip seal as needed.

14.01.11 | Staff Vacation
To show our appreciation to our amazing staff who really put in 110% over the holiday's we took them to Blue Mountain where we stayed in some gorgeous chalet's, had some great laughs and enjoyed some fantastic conditions on the slopes.
14.01.11 | Darn Print Show
Well like kids in a candy shop we've added a couple of new items to our inventory. We now have UV coating capabalities, that is specifically formulated to adhere to digital stocks as well as litho. Our UV coater can coat up to 20.5" wide stock. We also grabbed the Cadillac of digital envelope printers, we can print beautiful full colour envelopes in cost effective short runs, even with variable data at teh same time. From #10's all the way up to 10"x13" these full colour envelopes look awesome.
12.28.10 | Konica Minolta C8000 Digital Press
Definately one of the finest digital presses out there, with the ability to handle 300gsm duplexed, incredible registration and an air feed system to wrap it all up. Im tempted to add flames down the side of this thing! With our dedication to all things digital, we are now able to print about 18,000 8.5 x 11 sheets per hour of full colour work.
11.23.10 | 6 Station Semi Intelligent Inserter
With our clients demand for more Direct Mail pieces we have added a second inserter and now have plans to upgrade our existing one early 2011 as well.
11.21.10 | Xerox 700 Digital Press Upgrade
We now have 3 of these on our floor, with the amazing litho like quality our customers kept requesting their jobs done on the one we had so to keep up with demand we now have 3 all with high end Fiery RIP's. We also added a high speed black printer to our shop, enabling us to save our clients money on black only variable pieces.
09.01.10 | UJV 160 Mimaki Flatbed Printer
Many of our clients had expressed a need for printing directly to substrate, our recent purchase allows us to print directly to almost any surface using 3M UV inks. This baby prints at 1200dpi and is 63 inches wide. Gorgeous printing directly to Fomecor, Coreplast, Styrene, Metals and more.
07.12.10 | Buskro Aurora
In an effort to better serve our customers needs, Digital Edge has purchased a new high speed variable UV inkjet, this baby has all the bells and whistles. With 3 heads, each at 3" we are able to print on multiple areas of a job or stitch them together for a 9" solid print area. Capable of speeds in excess of 280 feet per minute while keeping crisp type, and high speed tracking for those duplex jobs.
06.19.10 | New Poster Maker | RockHopper II
New addition, we have added a Mutoh Rockhopper II, 65" Solvent printer. This machine is super speedy and does a great job with outdoor medias.

Many of the staff enjoyed a difficult weekend of team building in the Muskoka's, with a regime of Golf and Sun Tanning we all came back thoroughly rested.

Digital Edge Print now has our own B2B Print Portal, clients who order stationary and common items can now login, create, customize, order and approve their products 24/7. Ask your rep if this is suitable for your business.
We have also installed a great solution for all those using Microsoft Office or printing from home, install our printers on your system easily with just a few clicks and then instead of saving a file to our formats or messing with FTP software, just print the file directly to us.

05.04.10 | Cutter Install
Our new Cutter has arrived, State of the art cutting is here! this baby is huge, cuts through thousands of sheets of paper in a single swoop. Able to cut paper up to 45 inches wide and completely programmable to allow quick accurate cutting of large jobs.
04.28.10 | Moving Day
Well it happened quicker than expected, after only one short year we grew out of our office needs. We no longer reside at 2724 Coventry in Oakville, we have jumped over Dundas and landed at 3615 Laird Road Unit #5 in Mississuaga. The grass is definately greener over here.
We are now in a modern 15,000 square foot facility, we still have some customizations to do, but I can happily report that all systems are up and running.
